賞花
2016年華盛頓櫻花節於3/20-4/17盛大展開。每年三月底~四月初是華盛頓特區觀光的旺季。不僅因天氣漸暖而適合出遊，更因花季的到來吸引人潮朝聖，整座城像淹沒在花海中。最出名的是櫻花，來自日本東京，在1912年時贈與了三千株櫻花給華盛頓，數量最多為吉野櫻
大部分被種在西南角潮汐池（Tidal Basin）的周圍，以及緊臨的East Potomac Park

1.喬治城George Town：以英王喬治二世命名，最有名的是1789年建立的天主教大學-喬治城大學，1950年通過老喬治城法案有計畫地保護當地的老屋子，甘迺迪家族遷入後成時尚地點

[國外旅行]行前準備-華盛頓博物館篇[史密斯森學會 Smithsonian Institution,國內美術館,大屠殺紀念博物館]

提到華盛頓DC的博物館絕對不能不提史密斯森學會（Smithsonian Institution）

史密森尼學會（Smithsonian Institution）是美國一系列博物館和研究機構的集合組織。該組織囊括19座博物館、9座研究中心、美術館和國家動物園以及1.365億件藝術品和標本。
也是美國唯一一所由美國政府資助、半官方性質的第三部門博物館機構，同時也擁有世界最大的博物館系統和研究聯合體。管理和經費來源於由美國政府撥款，其他捐助以及自身商店和雜誌銷售盈利也在其中。

該機構與1846年成立，資金源於英國科學家詹姆斯·史密森（James Smithson）對美國的遺贈。該機構的諸多博物館除聖誕節外，全年對公眾免費開放

詹姆斯·史密森由於沒有子嗣，因此在遺囑中指示，如果史密森的侄子亨利‧史密森在沒有繼承人的情況下死亡，則史密森家族的所有財產，為了增進和普及人類文化知識，將以史密斯森協會的名義捐給美國。

史密森在一八二九年於歐洲過世，他終生未曾踏上美國的土地。他的侄子也在一八三五年離開人間。按照遺囑，約五十二萬美金的史密森家族財產捐贈給了美國。
就這樣，這筆相當於當今世界經濟大國——日本的國家預算三分之一的巨款，被存入了美國的國庫，並由國家永遠支付百分之六的利息。史密斯森協會的收藏品包括歷史、科學、文化、藝術和技術。每天在各博物館所展出的展品只是全部收藏品的百分之一，並且可以免費參觀。

弗里爾美術館（Freer Gallery of Art）：

可以參觀具東方色彩的孔雀廳(Peacock Room)

國立自然歷史博物館（National Museum of Natural History）：
2009年時上映的電影《博物館驚魂夜2》（Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian）是一齣獲得國立自然史博物館官方支援、以該博物館為主場景所拍攝而成的作品，在片中曾出現過大量以博物館實際館藏為藍本所創造的電影角色或橋段
寶石區有世界上最大的藍鑽 希望之鑽(The Hope Diamond)，大廳有非洲象標本"亨利"

國立肖像館（National Portrait Gallery）：

國家航空和太空博物館（National Air and Space Museum）：
是世界上收藏航空與太空飛行器材與設備最多的博物館，同時也是一個非常重要的從事航空技術、空間作戰及行星科學等相關研究的中心。主館位於華府的國家廣場，這裡擁有上百件飛行器相關展品，其中包括萊特飛行器、阿波羅11號指揮艙、月球岩石標本等

史蒂文·烏德沃爾哈齊中心（Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center）：
地點座落在華盛頓杜勒斯國際機場旁，場館為兩個巨大的停機坪Boeing Aviation Hangar and the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar，總共容納數以千計的飛行機及宇航機，包含 Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, 協和式客機和發現號太空梭，在廣島投下第一枚原子彈的波音B-29超級堡壘轟炸機，好幾台戰機或客機的世界唯一存品，裡面還有IMAX電影院及展望塔可供其他視角
該博物館有在電影變形金剛二出現，電影中SR-71黑鳥也是變型金剛的一員
交通有點不方便，除非真的從杜勒斯機場下飛機
Public Transportation From the Museum in DC:
1.Exit Museum at Independence Ave.
Cross intersection; turn right onto Maryland Ave. and walk one block to the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station.
2.Take Metro Silver Line to Wiehle-Reston East station. Fares paid with metrorail passes or SmarTrip cards.
3/Transfer to Fairfax Connector Bus No. 983. Bus fares paid with SmarTrip card or cash.
4.Exit bus at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center stop.
The trip takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

賀西弘現代藝術雕刻博物館（Hirshhorn Museum）：
展出現代藝術，旁邊有雕刻庭園，內有畢卡索、馬提斯、羅丹、米羅的作品
Opening Hours如後Museum: 10–5:30 , Plaza: 7:30–5:30 , Garden: 7:30–DUSK

美術和工業大廈（Arts and Industries Building），1879年建立，整修中，尚未開放。

倫威克美術館（Renwick Gallery）：
是史密森尼美國藝術博物館的分館，位於華盛頓特區，著重於19世紀到21世紀的美國工藝和裝飾藝術，可參觀大沙龍(Grand Salon)及八角展示室(Octagon Room)，Opening Hours: 10–5:30

國立非洲藝術博物館（National Museum of African Art）：Opening Hours: 10–5:30

阿納卡斯蒂亞地區博物館（Anacostia Museum）：Opening Hours: 10:00–5:00

國立美國原住民博物館（National Museum of the American Indian）：Opening Hours: 10–5:30

史密森國立動物園（Smithsonian National Zoological Park）：

內有大陸國寶大熊貓美香和添添

國立非裔美國人歷史和文化博物館（National Museum of African American History and Culture, NMAAHC）：新館的館址同樣選定在國家廣場中。在自有的館場完工之前是暫時借用美國歷史博物館的場地進行展覽

以上除Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center跟Smithsonian National Zoological Park都是在
華盛頓博物館區步行可達之處，地鐵L'Enfant Plaza Station 或 Smithsonian Station 最近

參觀之前可以先到史密斯梭尼亞城堡(Smithsonian Institution Building Aka Smithsonian Castle)
這裡是1855年完工，是機構下的第一座博物館，目前是機構的資料中心與行政中心

一.白宮 https://www.whitehouse.gov/
白宮的參觀網頁上有寫到
Public tour requests must be submitted through one's Member of Congress.  These self-guided tours are available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays (excluding federal holidays or unless otherwise noted).  Tour hours will be extended when possible based on the official White House schedule. Tours are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Requests can be submitted up to six months in advance and no less than 21 days in advance. You are encouraged to submit your request as early as possible as a limited number of spaces are available. All White House tours are free of charge.  (Please note that White House tours may be subject to last minute cancellation.)

If you wish to visit the White House and are a citizen of a foreign country, please contact your embassy in Washington, DC for assistance in submitting a tour request.

大意是指美國公民欲參觀白宮請透過自州的眾議員提出申請，通過申請可於周二到周六間的特定時間參訪白宮，申請請於21天到6個月前申請，且數量有限
非美國公民的話則需要透過駐美國大使館或其他駐外機構協助(中華民國是駐美台北經濟文化代表處)，但自2014年網友詢問到的結論看來希望不大：
白宮暫停開放外國民眾申請參觀
美國白宮自2011年7月起暫停開放外國民眾申請參觀，其網頁雖表示外國民眾欲參觀白宮者，可透過各國大使館申請，惟經洽美國國務院表示，白宮迄仍未開放外國民眾申請參觀；因此，本處目前仍無法協助國人申請參觀白宮。日後倘有最新消息，本處將立即在本處網頁公告。
若您要到華府觀光旅遊，本處建議您可考慮參觀美國國會山莊(網址：https://tours.visitthecapitol.gov)，遊客可先上網預約參觀時段或至現場免費索取門票；另外，您亦可申請參觀美國國防部五角大廈(網址：http://pentagontours.osd.mil)，其網頁雖建議外國遊客透過其駐美大使館申請參觀，但據美方官員表示，我民眾可直接透過美國國防部線上系統申請參觀。
另外，史密斯松寧協會(Smithsonian Institution)在華府有13個博物館及1個動物園，對外皆不收取門票費用，建議您多加利用。

既然透過申請方式不行，就只剩公開的參觀，白宮1972年尼克森起，每年都會有White House Garden Tours (Spring & Fall)，可以參觀Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden, Children's Garden and South Lawn of the White House，欲參觀是需要索票的，必須在參觀當天於Ellipse Visitor Pavilion(15th and E Streets)索取，9點準時發放
另外還有復活節彩蛋活動，是在今年是復活節隔天舉行(3/28)，門票需要透過抽籤取得

除了白宮外面拍拍照外，還可以參觀White House Visitor Center(1450 Pennsylvania Ave. NW)

註：911以前，白宮的tour一天開放6000張免費票參觀。911後暫停，2003年九月恢復tour

二.國會山莊 The U.S. Capitol Building
欲參觀國會山莊是需要預約的，預約網站是https://tours.visitthecapitol.gov/
Tours of the historic U.S. Capitol building are free, but require tickets which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The hours are 8:45 a.m - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Saturday

Tours are conducted Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations must be booked from 14 to 90 days in advance

目前連不進去，不知道是否有擋非美國IP

四.印鈔廠 Bureau of Engraving and Printing
Tours last about 30 minutes and are offered every 15 minutes, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The facility is closed on weekends, federal holidays
From April through August hours are extended from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

March through August - Free tickets are required for all tours during the peak season

Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street). Tickets are not available in advance. The Ticket Booth opens at 8:00 a.m. - Monday through Friday. This is a very popular attraction and lines form early. All of the tickets are usually gone by 9:00 a.m., so if you want to visit the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, you must plan ahead.

September through February - No tickets are required. You may line up at the Visitors’ Entrance on 14th Street.

結論：9月到2月可以直接排隊入場，其他月份就要到Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street)領取票券，8點開放領取，通常九點前會發完
